Kya
Meet Kya, a spirited 5-year-old pup whose joyful wagging tail immediately melted our hearts. Kya's previous owners brought her in, requesting euthanasia after seeking help from multiple veterinary clinics without viable options.
Although they had a voucher from the Humane Society, it covered only part of the medical costs, and sadly, her owners couldn't afford the remaining expenses. When Dr. Brown stepped into the exam room, she saw a dog full of life, happiness, and resilience. Recognizing Kya's potential to thrive, Dr. Brown opted to save her life by performing a successful right forelimb amputation.
Today, Kya is recovering beautifully and embracing her new life with the same joyful spirit she had from the moment she walked through our doors. Your support for Kya will ensure she continues to receive the care she needs and help her find a loving forever home where her happiness can truly flourish.
Booker
Meet Booker, a charming feline who became part of the Hopewell family in April 2025. Booker had been a patient at Hopewell Animal Hospital for many years, managing chronic urinary issues. Unfortunately, his previous owner could no longer provide the necessary ongoing care, leading Booker to join us for now... He can stay indefinitely, but the team at Hopewell hopes he finds a forever home.
Initially, Booker required sedation to handle treatment and diagnostics. After thorough bloodwork, urine cultures, and X-rays, we also discovered and treated colon issues, requiring further sedation and specialized care. Thanks to dedicated attention and a prescribed diet, Booker has significantly improved.
Now, Booker confidently roams the clinic, making sure everyone knows he's around. While he maintains a bit of his signature spiciness, he's quickly warming up and charming the Hopewell team. Booker is eagerly awaiting the perfect home - one that appreciates his unique personality and can continue providing the care and love he deserves. Your support helps Booker continue his journey toward health, happiness, and finding his forever family.
Thrifty
Thrifty
Meet Thrifty, an affectionate and lively young pit bull who is approximately 8-10 months old. This sweet pup was found abandoned, tied up, and alone in downtown Louisville. Our dedicated technician, Jen, spotted his story on social media and immediately sought permission from our Practice Manager, Jenni, to bring him safely to Hopewell Animal Hospital.
Since his rescue, Thrifty has received essential wellness care and surgery to correct his cherry eyes, all graciously funded by Hopewell. Fleur-de-Flea (an indoor vintage market near downtown Louisville) has also stepped in, sharing Thrifty’s story and assisting in fundraising for his medical care, as well as helping to find him a loving, forever home.
Thrifty is now healthy, happy, and eagerly awaiting the family who will give him the second chance he deserves. Your support can help ensure he continues to receive the care he needs as he embarks on the next joyful chapter of his life.
