Owner & Veterinarian

Born and raised in Louisville, Dr. Amanda Brown has always had a passion for animals and a vision for providing compassionate, family-centered veterinary care. That dream became a reality in 2015 when she opened Hopewell Animal Hospital, with the goal of delivering high-quality, affordable care to pets and their families.

Dr. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Western Kentucky University in 2003. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 2007, graduating Cum Laude. With years of experience and a deep love for veterinary medicine, she is committed to treating every pet as if they were her own.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Brown stays just as busy with her family life. Her husband, Tim, works for Chevron, and together they have two wonderful kids - Caleb, who loves basketball and running and will be part of Trinity High School’s Class of 2029, and Sophie, who enjoys playing softball, field hockey, and spending time at the clinic. When not working, the family can often be found cheering on UK or supporting their kids in their many activities.

Their home is filled with love and fur! - thanks to three dogs (Rue, Sadie, and Sparkles), three cats (Armour, Mikey, and Ember), and a snake named Banana.

At Hopewell Animal Hospital, Dr. Brown and her team believe in building lasting relationships with pets and their families. They look forward to welcoming you and your furry (or scaly!) friends to the clinic!

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Stephanie Mittelkamp has been part of the Hopewell Animal Hospital team since 2017, bringing with her a lifelong passion for animals and a deep love of science. A Kentucky native, she earned her undergraduate degree from Campbellsville University in 2009 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Prior to joining Hopewell, she worked as an associate veterinarian in general practice for four years, and gained valuable hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant in a mixed animal clinic and as a student technician in the critical care/ICU department at Auburn.

Dr. Mittelkamp enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, including wellness and sick exams, diagnostics, surgery, and dental procedures. She is especially inspired by the opportunity to give a voice to animals in need and to support the human-animal bond that enriches so many lives. Her favorite part of working at Hopewell is building relationships with clients and patients, and being part of a collaborative, compassionate team that continues to grow alongside the practice.

At home, Dr. Mittelkamp is mom to three beloved senior pets: Lexie, a 16-year-old mixed breed dog, and two cats, Cadence and Kona, who have been by her side through vet school, marriage, cross-country moves, and raising two children. When she’s not at the clinic, she loves spending time with her family and traveling whenever possible.

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Lindsay Miller brings over 19 years of veterinary experience, a deep love for animals, and a passion for the human-animal bond to her work at Hopewell Animal Hospital. A graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana (BS, 2001), she went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in 2006. Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Miller gained hands-on experience working as a kennel technician, receptionist, and veterinary assistant for three years.

Her interests in veterinary medicine include nutrition, dentistry, and strengthening the connection between pets and their people. As a student, she participated in conservation work with the Cincinnati Zoo, focusing on captive breeding programs for endangered species. She also contributed to otter research in Alaska, assisting scientists studying the long-term effects of oil spills on wildlife.

Known for her warm and approachable demeanor, Dr. Miller is enjoying getting to know the wonderful clients and patients at Hopewell. She values the collaborative and supportive spirit of the staff and appreciates the open space and expanded capacity of the new clinic to serve more families.

At home, Dr. Miller shares her life with two dogs - Dakota and Togo - and three cats... Marvin, Panther, and Newsie. Outside the clinic, she enjoys biking at the Parklands, hiking with her family, and is on a mission to visit every U.S. national park.  A proud mom of three, she often jokes that her favorite way to unwind is walking the dogs or going to the gym. “But 9 out of 10 times,” she laughs, “I’m actually driving my kids to one of their activities!” Dr. Miller also studied French and spent four months overseas during her undergraduate years. If she had to choose a spirit animal, she’d say it’s the owl - mysterious, wise, and beautiful to watch.
